2024 Ford Expedition Max Interior, Release Date, Price – The Ford Expedition is expected to get a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year. Spy photographs have shown a heavily camouflaged front and rear fascia, allowing us to believe that it will get a mild redesign. It is also revealed that it will also get the 15.5-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen also seen in the Mustang Mach-e as optional. Moreover, there have also been sightings of what could be the possible Expedition Timberline trim on its test runs, which further get some off-road hardware and some exterior design additions too.
The rest of the Ford Expedition is expected to be carried forward from the 2022 model year including the 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 making 375 hp and 440hp on the Platinum trim. The 2024 Expedition now also comes with a unique Stealth Edition Performance package, which delivers maximum on-road performance. That said, with the possible updates present for the 2024 Expedition, prices are expected to start at an MSRP of $52,500 for the base LX trim. The 2022 Expedition will compete with the likes of the GMC Yukon, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Nissan Armada.
2024 Ford Expedition Redesign
The 2024 Ford Expedition is expected to come with quite a few exterior changes as earlier spy shots have revealed the testing car had a heavily camouflaged front and rear fascia. Then there is also the case of the new Timberline Edition which sports off-road wheels, heavy F-150 Raptor underbody skid plates, and also a higher ground clearance, for proper off-roading capability.
With the Timberland trim, we do expect its own unique exterior to feature a more rugged design and its own unique exterior paint. With the standard variant, the exterior gets a new look, as we also expect a new set of wheel designs with the current sizes of 18-inches up to 22-inches. We expect the standard set of colors to continue including the popular Antimatter Blue, Rapid Red Mettalic tri-coat, and Iconic Silver.
Interior
The Ford’s interior offers a lot of space and a surprising number of standard features from the base model upwards. With such a big space to trim, it’s not surprising to find some shoddy materials inside, but for the most part, they’re well-hidden and easy to forget. It’s more of a problem higher up in the range where models cost more than $70,000. Substandard materials on such an expensive SUV leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
Infotainment is good, with even the base XL STX model now featuring an eight-inch screen with all the modern connectivity features. In the base specification, you have to fold the third-row down manually, but power adjustment is available on higher-spec models. Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 is standard fitment on all trims and includes an impressive array of driver assistance features.
Engine
The 2024 Ford Expedition is expected to carry forward the same 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine from the 2022 model year. The engine makes 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, in its standard form, but in higher trims of the Expedition, the V6 is able to put out 400 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission which sends all the power to the RWD system or the 4WD system if you select it for $2,050.
There have also been rumors it may get the 3.5L Powerboost V6 hybrid that makes 430 hp from the F-150 as an engine option. The Ford Expedition can do the 0-60 mph sprint in 6.2-seconds and Platinum trim reduces the time to 5.7-seconds, it will do the quarter-mile in 14.8-seconds and will top out at 125 mph. The 2022 Expedition comes with a towing capacity of 9,300 pounds.
2024 Ford Expedition Release Date and Price
The previous fleet-spec XL has been dropped in favor of a new decently specced model called the XL STX with an MSRP of $50,595. The XLT trim has a starting price of $53,410, and then we see a significant increase in pricing to the Limited, which goes on sale for $62,175. The King Ranch represents another big increase, with an MSRP of $73,335. The Platinum spec is just slightly more at $74,375. These prices exclude Ford’s $1,695 destination charge. Equipping the 4×4 setup to any model adds $3,050 to the bill.
