New 2024 Ford Ranger Redesign, Interior, Price

New 2024 Ford Ranger Redesign, Interior, PriceThe New Ranger’s origins are international, as evidenced by its appearance. As expected from a pickup, its body is upright and practical, but its windshield has a steeper rake, and its nose is devoid of the “power bar” found on larger Ford F-Series pickups. The Ranger’s interior would fit in with any Ford car with a familiar layout of temperature control buttons and a massive touchscreen for entertainment. The standard radio screen is 4.2 inches, but you can get an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as an upgrade.

The new Ranger is powered by a 2.3-liter turbo-4 with 270 horsepower and a 10-speed automated transmission. The Ranger is available in extended and four-door cab versions, with SuperCab models having a 5-foot bed and SuperCrew models having a 6-foot bed. All trucks come standard with rear-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive available. Off-road models have a suspension that has been fine-tuned. A locking rear differential is known as an option on all trim levels.

The XLT adds sport bucket seats, a CD player, and a 60/40-split bench seat to the inside, improving the exterior design. Manual side mirrors, roll-up windows, black vinyl flooring, and air conditioning are standard on the base XL. Mud flaps and a variety of improved wheels are included on the Sport model, enhancing the Ranger’s appearance even further. Step bars are standard on Sports Super Cab trucks, and skid plates are standard on 4-wheel drive Sports Super Cab vehicles to protect essential components on the truck’s underbody.

Standard safety features have a driver and front passenger airbags, seat-mounted side airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, load limiting retractors, driver chair position sensing and crash severity sensing, side intrusion door beams, tire pressure monitoring system, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS), and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control.

Interior

Despite its 2019 debut in the United States, the current Ford Ranger has been offered elsewhere since 2011, and its mature age is evident on the inside. The cabin is trimmed excessively with hard and cheap-looking plastics, and the styling is old-fashioned and simple. The majority of the panels seem strong and should stand up well to usage and abuse, but they don’t add any style points to the Ranger, especially when newcomers like the upmarket Hyundai Santa Cruz.

Two different infotainment systems are known for the 2024 Ranger. A modest 3.5-inch display with many physical buttons and knobs is the basic arrangement. This system is fundamental and has limited capabilities. Worse, it isn’t user-friendly. We recommend upgrading to the 8-inch touch screen that is currently available. It has popular smartphone connection capabilities like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and clear menus and quick answers that make it relatively straightforward to use while driving.

Engine

The 2.3-liter engine from Ford is an excellent powertrain. It was first employed in the frantic Focus RS and is now used in the standard Mustang. It has a wide range of capabilities depending on how you adjust it. It produces 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque in the Ranger. The primary goal was to give it some low-down grunt, with performance potential as a bonus.

Some may consider it a flaw, but it isn’t available with a manual transmission. However, given the primary purpose of this vehicle, an automatic transmission makes more sense. When off-roading or towing, changing gears is less to worry about. The Ranger can be a little sluggish to downshift in Sport mode, but that’s hardly the point of a pickup truck. The Ranger’s powerplant feels more than capable in all other situations, such as driving down the highway or towing a trailer.
