2024 Ford Super Duty, Redesign, Price

2024 Ford Super Duty, Redesign, PriceThe City Ford Super Duty is one of the most competent and potent heavy-duty vehicles available today. Its 1050 lb-ft of torque Power Stroke diesel engine allows the most robust model to pull 37,000 pounds. Both of those statistics place the heavy-duty versions of the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra behind the City Ram HD but in front of it. The Super Duty excels most as a flexible vehicle that can be outfitted as a bare-bones workhouse, a genuinely opulent towing machine, or anything in between, even though those attributes are fantastic for ads. Along with the diesel engine option, two more gas engines are available: a 6.2-liter standard gas V-8 that produces 430 lb-ft of torque and a 7.3-liter optional gas V-8 that produces 475 lb-ft. Its extensive contemporary technology, apartment-sized crew cab, and all of this capacity makes it easy to overlook its subpar interior furnishings and clunky driving manners.

Compared to F-250 models, F-350 and F-450 vehicles have a more robust frame and hitch system. For improved stability with big loads, the F-350 and F-450 are also available in dual-rear-wheel (DRW) configurations. When equipped with a fifth-wheel hitch, a model can tow up to 24,500 pounds, compared to 17,500 pounds for models with a standard bumper hitch. Only a few changes lived made to the Super Duty for the City model year. Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Gray, and Lithium Gray are now the available colors for all models. The XL Power Equipment option adds heated trailer-tow mirrors, manual-folding, and telescoping functions to base models with the dual-rear-wheel axle. A bed step is now an option for all Super Duty vehicles.

2024 Ford Super Duty Redesign

Only a few modifications were created to the Super Duty for the City model year.

For the Ford F-350 Super Duty, there is no such thing as a standard overall length or overall wheelbase. Three different cab arrangements, two different box sizes, and five different wheelbase lengths are available. The XL Regular Cab’s body length is 231.8 inches, and its wheelbase is 141.6 inches. The wheelbase with the most extended body is 266.2 inches long and 176 inches wide. The height ranges from 78.7 to 81.5 inches, depending on the model you pick. The width with mirrors, rated at 105.9 inches, is the sole static measurement. The expanded mirror size brings the width to 110 inches in tandem configurations. Between 8.3 and 8.8 inches is the range for ground clearance. The increased suspension and new Tremor Package raise the vehicle’s ground clearance to 10.8 inches. A set of 35-inch tires is also included.

Interior

Since last year, there have been no significant interior alterations. Heavy-duty vinyl upholstery in a light earth gray hue is provided on the base trim of the F-350, while cloth upholstery is offered on the more expensive XLT trim. Black vinyl covers the floor, and there is colored material provided within the cabin. In both grades, black molded polyurethane steering is included. The headroom and legroom in the F-350 regular cab are generous. The hard plastic is prevalent throughout the cabin. You have a front armrest with two cup holders and a place to store your Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks drinks.

The XLT level has heated seats as an option. On the XLT level, the front seats’ standard 4-way manual adjustment and manual lumbar support may be upgraded to 8-way power adjustment. For convenience, the seats may be folded into a 40/20/40 configuration, comfortably seating three people. The manual tilt and telescoping steering wheel, day and night rearview mirror, two power outlets, manual temperature control, intermittent windshield wipers, and manually adjustable head restraints are among the usual creature comforts offered on the F-350 regular cab.

Engine

There are five Ford Super Duty trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. A 400-horsepower, 6.7L Power diesel engine or a 385-horsepower, 6.2L gasoline V8 are the two options available across the series. It may be appealing for fleet usage because the gasoline engine is compatible with E85 (85 percent ethanol) and can be fitted with propane or compressed natural gas (CNG). However, the diesel engine’s massive 800 pound-feet of torque significantly outperforms the gas engine’s 405 pound-feet in any practical application. No matter what machine the Super Duty trucks have, they all have an automatic 6-speed SelectShift transmission for heavy-duty use.

We can only evaluate Super Duty and its enormous competitors based on our testing, as the EPA doesn’t test cars with similar weights. We will have to wait until we gain access to Ford’s new heavy-duty pickup trucks before evaluating their actual mpg on our highway fuel-economy route. Ford has updated the engine options for these vehicles. The last F-250 model we tested got 15 mpg on the road. It had a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that ran on gas and a six-speed automatic transmission.
