2024 Ford Edge Colors, Configurations, Dimensions – The 2024 Ford Edge and its two-row rivals are available if you want a medium-sized SUV but don’t need three rows of passengers. They offer more ideal space than other compact crossovers. The Ford is attractive and comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder or a 335-hp twin-turbo V-6 engine, though the latter is only available in the performance-oriented ST model. Similar packages are available from several competitors, including the Chevy Blazer, Honda Passport, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, and some are just more refined. The Edge’s interior may have various luxury and convenience features, including a substantial 12.0-inch infotainment display. Still, its dated design and low-cost materials keep occupants from living the premium-SUV dream.
The Ford Edge is an excellent midsize SUV. It does most things well, but none of them well. Even though the actual measurements are below average for the class, there is enough passenger space and cargo utility. A huge infotainment display is futuristic and sleek, but some reviewers say it relies too heavily on touch controls.
2024 Ford Edge Redesign.
In the 2024 model year, entry-level SE trims will be available with a Black Appearance package. It features black exterior highlights and 19-inch black wheels. The optional Adventure package includes 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, faux-leather upholstery, and the SEL trim’s grey and black exterior details. A center console-mounted safe is among the additional dealer-installed equipment added to the spec sheet. The color pallet now includes Flight Blue and Forged Green.
Starting with the SE model, you choose seven hues, including Forged Green, a new color. Agata Black, Iconic Silver, Atlas Blue, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White, and Stone Blue are the other colors. Rapid Red and Burgundy Velvet for $495 and Star White for $795 is included with the SEL. Most of these colors are available in the ST-Line and Titanium with minor changes. In Agate Black or Rapid Red, the sporty ST-Line looks exceptionally good. Desert Gold and Lithium Gray are no longer available.
Interior
The cabin of this midsize Ford SUV is large, with plenty of legroom and headroom in both seats. The interiors of the 2024 Ford Edge are projected to be free or low-cost materials, with a redesigned style and required updates. The main focus is on comfort, with Ford promising to update the antiquated cabin attractiveness this time. The 12-inch central infotainment screen, which looks like a tablet, is the main attraction. Also, the base trim has significantly better fabric upholstery, and the higher edges have much better leather upholstery.
The Edge’s cabin does not appear to be on par with competitors from Japan, such as the well-appointed Mazda CX-5. As we did in previous Ford Edge assessments, we discovered some lower-grade plastics, but the overall build quality isn’t bad. The base model comes with your choice of Ebony or Dune fabric seats. The SEL has ActiveX seating, which is available in Ebony or Dune and manages to feel both luxurious and durable at the same time. The SEL can also be customized with ‘Unique Cloth’ in the same color options. Ebony ActiveX seats with Miko inserts are standard on the ST-Line. The Titanium is available with Ebony or Dune leather upholstery or Ebony or Ceramic perforated leather. The Titanium Elite Package, which includes Brunello perforated leather in either Ebony or Ceramic, is available for an additional fee. The center console on the base model is finished in Dark Slate and SEL versions and up to get a leather steering wheel. Ambient lighting is also included in Titanium variants to emphasize the leather inside.
Engine
The Ford Edge will be fitted with a more comfortable and softer suspension system, which will improve ride quality. Even at highway speeds, the CD6 architecture, which has a lower center of gravity and is now considerably wider, will improve handling and create a more grounded ride. The Ford Edge is more enjoyable to drive and has more agile handling than you’d expect from a midsize crossover. With 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most powerful SUV among its competitors. The Nissan Murano comes in second with 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque.
Check the box for the Edge ST, which comes with a 335-hp twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 and standard all-wheel drive and can keep up with a Volkswagen Golf GTI from zero to 60 mph quite a few other zippy cars as well. The base turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 250 horsepower and, despite its sluggish acceleration, should be sufficient for most consumers. The Edge isn’t as agile as the dynamic Mazda CX-9—our benchmark for crossover handling—but it’s fun to drive and has reassuring cornering stability. It has nicely weighted steering but doesn’t tell you much, and it rides smoothly over rough roads.
2024 Ford Edge Price and Release Date
The Ford Edge starts at $34,905 and tops at $43,760 in 2024. This midsize Ford SUV will not receive a significant redesign like some siblings. The Ford Edge is an intriguing option, with a sleek appearance, a large cabin, and agile handling as essential features. The Edge perfectly compromises the compact Ford Escape and the three-row Ford Explorer.
According to reports, the next-generation Ford Edge will come out in June 2023 on an all-new platform. The Edge will most likely be offered in 2024 with a tried-and-true 2.0-liter turbocharged engine linked to an eight-speed automated transmission. What is certain is that AWD will be standard for the 2024 model year.
